SEED Project: Social Educational Employment Development

🌱LPW Helping young people grow

Social and emotional engagement is core to our work. The SEED project opens doors for young people (aged 19-25), and during our regular 1:1 sessions we hear their voices. We encourage their dreams by building secure relationships to help them achieve positive growth mindset needed for them to lead independent lives. We help them to move closer to accessing training, education, employment and volunteering as we recognise professional development opens a wealth of opportunity for young people.

One of our young people getting suited and booted, funded by Key4Life... Working together to get him the best opportunities!

Our team at The Bristol Foyer signing up young people for support, information and guidance around accessing education, employment, training & volunteering opportunities!

Understanding the root of a young person’s dreams and aspirations is key to the SEED project, and we have seen incredible progress with the 39 young people now involved. The project uses a range of engagement methods, placing huge importance on physical activity to aid physical and mental health. The LPW team create an environment in which young people can fulfil their potential. We activate and enable their sense of purpose, and reduce feelings of isolation.

Our success helps young people overcome barriers and enables them to integrate back into their community…

“To get to this point it has taken weeks of work with EC for them to see the world beyond the horizon of their front door… to allow their inquisitive mind to open and explore what is out there for him and be defined by who he is… to enable his voice and his voice be heard, for him to have a positive contribution to his community and society around him”- EW at LPW.

In the team setting goals, creating safe places and building communication and engagement with these young people, they have paved the way for subsequent support for social prescribing services…
